SoftBank Robotics unveils its first premium café in Tokyo
Paris, December 12th 2019 – SoftBank Robotics announces the launching of Pepper PARLOR, its first premium café, located at the Tokyu Plaza Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan. Pepper PARLOR features an original menu of waffles, drinks and more with an international flair, set in a comfortable lushly green interior.
SoftBank Robotics robots will assist human staff to serve customers, offering fun services and entertainment. Customers will also be able to purchase Pepper PARLOR accessories, available only through the café.
Robots at Pepper PARLOR
At Pepper PARLOR, a variety of SoftBank Robotics robots happily assists humans, including the iconic Pepper.
Ten Pepper are gathered all around the café. Pepper will help take customer orders and will also interact with them at tables, take photos, and offer new, fun experiences throughout the parlor.
NAO robots will perform delicate, precisely choreographed dances. Other performances will take place throughout the day at special times.
Whiz, the AI cleaning robot, will rely on its self-driving technology to clean Pepper PARLOR after hours. Robots are playing a starring role, even away from the customers’ view.
Fumio Yonezawa, former New York three-star sous chef, created a menu that imagines Gourmet Food and Sweet Waffles from travels around the world.
These dishes are a marriage of recipes and carefully selected ingredients from all over the world and options from five different types of waffle dough.
People can purchase original Pepper PARLOR branded goods only available at the Pepper PARLOR. A wide variety of branded goods will be offered, including goods featuring the Pepper PARLOR logo, original World Traveler Pepper goods designed by popular illustrator Seiji Matsumoto, and original Pepper PARLOR chocolate created through a collaboration with popular Shibuya chocolatier Theobroma.
