SoftBank Robotics UK Launch a New Range of Automated Tray Delivery Solutions to Support the Service Industry

LONDON, August 26, 2022 – SoftBank Robotics UK, the global leader in collaborative robotics (cobotics), has launched a new range of a tray delivery robots, Keenbot, to respond to current challenges within the service industry. The new product portfolio will expedite the deployment of robotics’ solutions across many sectors, not limited to hospitality, education, and elderly care.

As staffing and recruitment issues continue across many sectors, the service industry, in particular, is having difficulty finding people to fill roles that are both customer and non-customer facing, such as restaurant waiting staff and cleaning teams. In fact, new research by SoftBank Robotics shows that 73% of facilities managers admitted to currently struggling to find labour.

With Keenbot, tray delivery systems by Keenon Robotics, SoftBank Robotics UK will accelerate service robots to provide both short-term and long-term solutions to these staffing problems, as well as helping improve guest satisfaction in locations such as hotels and restaurants.

There is a huge opportunity for businesses to now embrace new technologies and adopt new business models in order to drive both employee engagement, retention, and increase productivity.

Stefano Bensi, general manager of SoftBank Robotics UK, said, “Demand for the quality of customer service and guest experience has never been higher, but there is a labour sourcing crisis that is stopping service providers from delivering. Add to that the general level of anxiety concerning cleanliness and hygiene, and the employee expectations that go with that, we can see that many industries have both a challenging time ahead and an opportunity to take advantage of the current moment and demonstrate its value.
Bensi continued, “The answer lies in technology. First, however, there needs to be an understanding of how new technologies such as cobotics can not only plug the skills gap by supporting people, but also drastically improve many other outcomes.”

SoftBank Robotics UK is synonymous for providing high quality and innovative solutions that make life easier, safer, and more pleasurable for everyone. The Keenbot range of tray delivery solutions allow staff to concentrate on higher priority tasks, whilst taking care of the more mundane – like delivery food from the restaurant kitchen to the table.

Also, to complement the tray delivery solutions, by SoftBank Robotics UK, is Whiz – the autonomous vacuum cleaner – which lessens the impact of gaps in the workforce, achieving up to 100% vacuum coverage,100% of the time. It is also capable of reducing harmful particles on average by 53%, improving occupant wellbeing.
